Will my bottles lose their value?

In the short term, wine & spirits prices may fluctuate with market conditions. However, historical data suggest that wine and spirits tend to exhibit stable long-term growth potential and relative resilience during periods of global economic volatility.

Here are three examples:

Wine

Since 2008, wine values have experienced fluctuations, but the long-term trend has been upward.

Whisky

Even after periods of economic turbulence that caused short-term demand slowdowns and price corrections, long-term values have remained higher than they were 10 years prior.

Kinmen Kaoliang

According to data from Kinmen Kaoliang Liquor, 0.75L 58° Kaoliang increases in value the longer it is stored, with especially notable price appreciation after 10 years. The same holds for wine and whisky — despite short-term volatility, prices tend to rise steadily over the long term.

Is short-term volatility normal?

Yes. Like any commodity market, the wine and spirits market is influenced by factors such as supply and demand, exchange rates, and economic conditions. Short-term price fluctuations are a normal part of the market. Holding for the long term generally helps smooth out the impact of short-term swings.

What if I no longer want to hold my wines?
